Our thoughts on splitters a.k.a. Yorkshire
Terrier (Biewer Yorkshire carrier)
Our first intent is to breed Biewer
Yorkshire to Biewer Yorkshire. However,
since there is still a lot of work to be done in order to achieve the
same quality of Biewer Yorkies as in the beginning, we find it a must to breed
the Yorkie back in to the Biewer Yorkie. Why? Because we love the appearance of
a Yorkie and that's why I fell in love with the Biewer Yorkshire in the first
place. Which means, that every breeding couple we mate is done with much
thought by choosing the best partner, who'll be able to produce what
we're hoping for. If this means we have to use a Yorkie, or even better
a splitter to maintain our goal, then that's what we'll do. Please keep
in mind that we only use the very best Yorkie bloodlines. In our
splitters Lucky, Akira and Fanny(Biewer Yorkshire carriers) pedigrees you'll find the most famous
Yorkie kennels with many multi champions:
Millmoor, Ozmilion, Aero, Pastoral, Nicnak,
and Littlestar.

Please note; If
you mate a Splitter = Yorkshire (Biewer Yorkshire carrier) with a
Biewer Yorkshire Terrier á la Pom-Pon there is no garantee
to the outcome. It's
a fairytale that by using a F2, F3 etc. etc. you have more
chance of breeding
full Biewer Yorkshire Terriers. If you're very lucky, you
could have all Biewers Yorkshire Terriers in a litter but
then again you may end up with only one or even none, just
Splitters.
Go for quality
instead of quantity!!!!

We know that the
BTCA in the USA doesn't agree on our point of view but bare in mind that we do breed Biewer
Yorkshire á la Pom-Pon, registered with the worldwide
first, largest and leading Biewer club, the IBC in Germany. They
are the only Biewer Yorkshire club who go back to the beginning and who
have the original ACH studbooks from the first Friedheck Biewer
Yorkshire á la Pom-Pon. Don’t be fooled into believing that
Biewers are not YORKSHIRE Terriers. ALL of the German Biewer
Yorkies
originated from registered YORKSHIRE Terriers of what is
considered normal colour and pattern for the Yorkshire Terrier.
The BTCA, established just a few years ago, took it upon
themselves to create their own new standard which allows larger
dogs with a tea cup tail carriage, totally different to the
original Biewer Yorkshire á la Pom-Pon. Biewer
Yorkshires are 5-7 pounds in size and there are no other
specified size categories in ANY registry. Also where it's not
allowed to use Yorkies in your breeding program. In other words,
a different breed (Biewer Terrier) all together with where some
have little to nothing in common with the original Biewer
Yorkshire á la Pom-Pon and for this reason should be excluded
from any breeding program. We ourselves prefer to invest more
time and effort into bringing in dogs we like, (even more
important, ones we can rely on). We're sure it will be worth it
in the long run, when the results are here in a couple of
generations. Our goal is to breed the Biewer Yorkshire á
la Pom-Pon as they were up to around the mid nineties, small
yorkies but then with the Biewer Yorkshire colouring. As of 2009
all Yorkshire Terrier splitters will be indicated with the IBC
as Yorkshire Terrier (Biewer Yorkshire carrier) on their
pedigrees.
We've seen Biewers for sale in the USA and Germany and
must admit, we weren't happy with what we saw. There are Biewers for
sale who have absolutely nothing in common with a Biewer Yorkshire
á la Pom-Pon ( floppy or bunny ears, little to no tan/gold,
coarse coats etc.) This is for us reason enough to continue trying our
very best to better the breed by doing whatever is necessary. For any
further questions or views concerning this matter, please feel free to
contact us.
